Anthriscus cerefolium. Kerwil. Year round. Mostly used as a home cuisine herb but has healing properties as well.

Chervil is a hardy annual, grows 30 – 60cm high, bright green feathery leaves, small white flowers.

Light shade in summer, sheltered sunny position in winter, grows 30 - 60cm high, water regularly to keep the soil moist, but not sodden.

Parts used: leaves

Medicinal uses: source of vitamin C, stimulates digestion, relieves head colds, acts as a blood cleanser.

Culinary uses: a fines herbes, indispensible in French Cuisine, especially in salads, soups, sauces, with vegetables, and in chicken, fish and egg dishes.
